James J. Connaughton of Tewksbury, a retired plasterer, died at home Monday after a lengthy illness. He was 76.
Born in Athlone, County Roscommon, Ireland, Mr. Connaughton emigrated to the United States in 1949. He lived in Roslindale and Dorchester before moving to Tewksbury in 1984.
Mr. Connaughton served in the Irish Army from 1946-1949 and was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 503rd Infantry Airborne Division.
He worked as a plasterer for Boston Local 10 of the Plasterers Union. Mr. Connaughton worked on several building projects throughout Massachusetts, specializing in decorative plaster moldings and columns. He also ...
