EUROPEAN COMMUNITY CONCEDES TO BRASS MILL INDUSTRY, COPPER AND BRASS
FABRICATORS COUNCIL SAYS
WASHINGTON, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. brass mill industry recently won a major victory when the European Community (EC) relinquished its longstanding policy, dating from the early 1970s, of restricting exports of copper scrap and copper alloy scrap, the Copper and Brass Fabricators Council said.
The EC action ended proceedings before a General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) Dispute Resolution Panel which had been investigating U.S. charges that the EC quotas violated international trade agreements.
