Much ado about nothing. That statement sums up Dane County Sup. Tom Powell's ill-conceived proposal to ban personal watercraft on the lakes of Dane County. Make no mistake about it, this proposal was designed to ban the craft from the waterways around Madison, not "regulate" their use, as advertised by Powell and his few supporters.
Powell claims that this proposal comes out of his concern for environmental protection, water safety and noise abatement and was brought to him by the people he represents in Dane County. The truth of the matter is his proposal was brought to him by a few people who have a bias against personal ...
