PAKISTAN: A Catholic security guard in Pakistan was shot dead Nov. 6 in a border town near Afghanistan, raising fears among Christians even further, church people say.
According to reports, Minamen Bashir was hit by 16 bullets at the Quetta airport in southwestern Pakistan. The native of Bahawalpur town, where gunmen killed at least 16 churchgoers Oct. 28, was the only Christian working at the airport.
Christians have lived in fear since the killing in Bahawalpur's Dominican-run Catholic church, "but after hearing this news they feel more under threat," Dominican Fr. Albert Youhanna said.
