Teacher Quality: Issues and Research
Teacher quality is at the top of the education policy agenda. From private foundations such as the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation to the U.S. Department of Education and further, reaching to the 2000 Presidential campaign, the debate about teacher quality rages. There are hundreds of governmental and private groups studying teacher quality and making recommendations for improving teacher quality. So many different reports, edits and standards, in fact, that it is can be quite confusing to teachers themselves and to higher education institutions whose role it is to train the nation's teachers, as well as the lay person, parent, ...
