In 1982, the Australian team of Dr. Marshall and pathologist Dr. Robin Warren challenged the firmly entrenched medical notion that ulcers were a result of stress.
Two decades later, the link between H. pylori and ulcers is well established, and the scientific breakthrough is heralded for ending the suffering of millions of people around the world. We spoke with Dr. Marshall at his home in Perth, Australia, to catch up with the latest research and recent findings on the bacterium's role in other diseases.
