Dec. 18--J.P. Wilkin Jr. introduces himself as the president of Mark W. Cross & Co. His corporate stationery is heavyweight white paper with a gold-embossed Mark Cross logo. He even uses the email address jpw@markwcross.com.
What Wilkin hasn't got is the legal right to use the Mark Cross name. That belongs to Chicago's Sara Lee Corp., and the giant food and apparel company isn't very happy about Wilkin or his plans to revive the upscale handbag brand that was folded back in 1997.
