Speer Boulevard lane closures will continue periodically while crews finish the tricky job of painting the bridges over the South Platte River.
``It has taken forever to paint those bridges, but we are getting close,'' said Jim Barwick, chief infrastructure engineer for the City and County of Denver. ``I hope the job is finished by the end of the year. I am so over this paint job. It was supposed to be done by February 2000.''
