Local Krispy Kreme fans can start lining up any time now.
The famed "Hot Doughnuts Now" neon sign finally will come to Madison next year, said Chuck Knoblauch, regional manager for Glazed Investments LLC, the Krispy Kreme franchisee for Wisconsin.
The sign, the signature of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc., lights up at Krispy Kreme stores every time a new batch of Original Glazed doughnuts emerges from a machine.
"We are planning on at least one, possibly two stores in the Madison area," Knoblauch said. "We're looking at sites. It could be as soon as next summer and within a year is a safe bet."
