AND so it came to pass that Life and Work, the magazine of the Church of Scotland, said television's soaps contained a moral message.
Its scripture for issue January 2002 says soaps are "dramatically sensationalist, but morally conventional. They judge.
"Soaps in fact are so close to the Church's teachings in their moral line that occasionally they are called religious broadcasting by other means."
Call me a Jeremiah if you like, but it's a revelation to me.
