A COMMON cold expert has warned people not to raise their hopes after news that American experts had developed a drug which shortens the virus's duration.
Professor Ron Eccles, from Cardiff University's Common Cold Centre, described the advancement as a very exciting opportunity, but added "we are still going to have to wait and see how exciting".
There are about 120 million colds a year in the UK.
