The OPC Foundation demonstrated applications based on the OPC XML specification and Microsoft ".NET for Manufacturing" technologies at ISA Expo 2001 in the U.S.
The demonstration was intended to show how manufacturing companies can utilise OPC XML, which is based on Microsoft's new ".NET for Manufacturing" platform. OPC XML is for exchange of plant information with manufacturing applications running over the Internet.
