The views you express in the "Taking Sides" editorial of Nov. 19 are disappointing, ill-informed and out of touch with your readers and the real world. Only in the confines of the Investment News editorial rooms would a standard service agreement be viewed as evidence of "collusion" requiring an apology to investment advisers.
Quite the contrary, the advisers we serve expect nothing less than such a service agreement because they rely on both Advent (for software) and on Schwab (for brokerage), and they expect us to cooperate so the two work together.
The situation, while complicated, is far more straightforward and less strange than your editorial ...
