2001 DEC 26 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Celgene Corp. has been issued U.S. Patent No. 6,316,471, which covers the use of Actimid (CDC 394), Celgene's next IMiD (immunomodulatory drug), to treat cancer and inflammatory diseases both as a single agent and in combination with other therapies. The patent also covers the pharmaceutical compositions of Actimid.
Actimid was found to be well tolerated in a single-blind, placebo-controlled, ascending dose Phase I trial in 30 healthy volunteers.
