It was a bittersweet victory for Madison's Wilson Street Grill.
After hours of debate and public testimony, the Dane County Board late Thursday voted, 26 to 11, to give $500,000 to the owners of Wilson Street Grill, which is losing its home to a new county courthouse.
The restaurant, 217 S. Hamilton St., is a tenant in Hamilton Place, which will be demolished next year to make way for the $44 million, 216,000-square-foot courthouse.
"I'm very relieved," said Nancy Christy, who co-owns and operates the Grill. "I feel that we've been treated fairly. I'm grateful for that."
