Dec 24, 2001 (The Mercury
ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Shipwrights Point School of Wooden Boat Building in Tasmania plans to double its intake of students. There are also plans for new facilities for tourists at the school. Employment services group STEPS assumed control of the school in 2001. STEPS CEO, Ken Langston, said student demand is sufficient for the school to expand. The number of visitors to the school has increased to 30 a day since the Tahune Airwalk opened, Langston also noted. The school currently has eight students, its two-year course costing $A15,000.
