I went to northern New Mexico to see the light.
The wide bowl of sky here is so brightly blue you want to finger-paint with it. And the light is so vibrant, you could scoop it in your hands.
But Santa Fe and Taos are also noted sites for spiritual light, with a history of Catholic miracles and a cluster of New Age sages.
That light drew me, too.
Heat, not light, was the quest of my old friend David, a New Yorker who invited me to see his native New Mexico.
