A new reporting code for geologists in Europe came into effect from October this year. The "Code for Reporting of Mineral Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves" updates the reporting standards used by the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy (IMM), The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) and the Institute of Geologists of Ireland (IGI).
The need to standardise reporting definitions for mineral resources and reserves was recognised in 1994 by the Council of Mining and Metallurgical Institutes (CMMI) and led to the provisional agreement in October 1997 of the definition of resources, reserves, and their respective sub-clauses, by ...
