Dan Smith is in his first term as vice president for Region III. He serves as ACTE Board liaison to the Resolutions Committee and chairs a subcommittee examining international memberships. Smith has been an active member of the Minnesota Association for Career and Technical Education, serving over the years as president, Region III Policy Committee representative, and chair of Minnesota's Policy Development Committee. He received the Minnesota and Region III Vocational Educator of the Year Awards in 1996, and he has participated with his wife, Kate, on international volunteer service projects in Zimbabwe, Bolivia, and Siberian Russia.
