Suicide
I respond to the two items on suicide in the October Record as a survivor of suicide. My husband committed suicide at age 41. I was left to pick up the pieces. He suffered depression and was on medication but had stopped taking it for an extended period. By the time he realized he was in trouble and started his medication again, the dosage was insufficient to boost his serotonin to the proper level. He was a man of great talent, seemingly happy with life on the outside, never giving any indication of suicidal thoughts or actions. Even our family doctor missed the hidden signs.
