A survey of youth service providers in metropolitan Melbourne revealed a relatively stable, experienced and well-educated work force. Case management and counselling were the most commonly provided services to young people; however, respondents reported that housing, income support, material aid and general support were most commonly sought by homeless young people. Inadequate funding and lack of resources were identified as the most significant issues for service providers and service delivery.
