TOKYO, Dec.26/KYODO JBN-AsiaNet/-- Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is exercising the early redemption option for all the Series # 5 Unsecured Convertible Bonds issued on July 5, 1994, according to the terms stipulated in the Agreement with Commissioned Companies for Bondholders 2-8(Ro). Exercise of the option was approved by the Board of Directors Meeting, held on December 26, 2001.
