One of the more interesting changes in the industry over the last few years has been the redefinition of the product support side of the engine, component and equipment business. All three types of manufacturers need and want to have a strong presence in their own aftermarkets. However, in these fiscally driven times, the continued investment to do that is often a tough sell to senior management.
