WACO, Texas -- The weekend is over, but you're having trouble getting to sleep. It's "Sunday night insomnia," and although it's not a medical term, it might as well be one.
According to a National Sleep Foundation survey, about half of Americans report sleep difficulty at least occasionally. Many researchers think it's even worse on Sunday nights. All this insomnia has far-reaching effects during the day: a negative impact on concentration, productivity and mood.
Dr. Robert Springer of the Southwest Regional Sleep Disorder Center in Waco, Texas, said Sunday night insomnia is normal.
