Family Planning and AIDS Prevention In addition to supplying condoms, family planning providers are assuming a larger role in AIDS prevention. This is a logical and important step. Although family planning programs have not worked with all the groups at greatest risk for AIDS, they have long experience in policy advocacy, program planning, tranining, service promotion, counseling, sex education, and logistics. Many of the lessons learned from family planning programs apply to AIDS prevention as well.
