Lessons from Family Planning Programs Family planning programs have operated for almost three decades. They have been evaluated more extensively and with greater sophistication than most other health programs (134, 386). Because family planning, like AIDS prevention, involves changes in sexual behavior, many lessons learned in family planning programs also apply to AIDS prevention.
