CLEVELAND _ No, Chuck Person didn't tell brother Wesley that he would whup him if he didn't improve his play this season. Nevertheless, there is precedent for that in the family.
"I don't spare the rod," Chuck said.
Chuck, 37, is seven years older than Wesley, so he said he always has been more like a "father figure" to him. And daddy Chuck has been quite diligent in his duties.
In 1988, Chuck was in his second season with the Indiana Pacers while Wesley was a sophomore at Brantley (Ala.) High School. Chuck got word that Wesley's grades were slipping, so he came home.
