FIREWORKS and fun marked the beginning of 2002 as nearly 20,000 people packed into Birmingham's Centenary Square for a giant free New Year's Eve show that featured pop, rock and dance.
Birmingham's own Pop Idol Hayley Evetts made a surprise appearance when she guested with Beatles tribute band Prefab Four on two songs, Can't Buy Me Love and Hard Days Night.
