Expert systems: A coalition of minds
Integrating human intelligence with machines requires that we understand our own decision-making processes and appoint champions to nurture its artificial twins. All knowledge is founded upon the experience of preceding generations. Artifacts in museums today are physical manifestations of lessons learned in antiquity. Magnetic media and optical disks are new repositories for the intellectual artifacts of modern civilization, and expert systems are the means for future generations to decipher lessons taught by those they follow.
