They have taken from society. Now they are being forced to give back. The Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) Division of Parole Services has developed a community service program for some of its noncompliant offenders. Since 1995, Kansas parole officers have used community service as part of its Graduated Sanctions Grid to respond to offenders' violations.
Offenders who participate in this program, both male and female, include those sentenced by the courts to community service, those assigned community service by the Kansas Parole Board and those sanctioned by parole officers for failure to meet parole requirements.
