Demand for process catalysts (which exclude environmental applications) is forecast to increase 4.4 percent per year to $3.3 billion in 2005, driven by accelerating growth in the petroleum refining sector and continued strength in new polymerization technologies. In all sectors, catalysts are now seen as one of the preferred ways to improve process efficiency, lower costs, increase output and meet both performance and environmental standards.
