ABIX via COMTEX) -- Two of the Erickson air crane helicopters similar to that used in the fight against New South Wales (NSW) bushfires are on their way to Sydney. The NSW Government has decided to lease two of the helicopters for 10 weeks. It is a deal that is separate to that alluded to by the Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, earlier in the week. Howard said he would consider supporting the purchase of three of the helicopters. "Elvis", the Erickson helicopter hired by the Victorian Government and on loan to NSW for the bushfire emergency, is expected to return to Melbourne over the weekend.
