GREEN BAY -- Through 31 games of his NFL career with the New York Giants, Ron Dayne has 1,379 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, a pair of marks that he had no trouble passing in any one of his four seasons at the University of Wisconsin.
Either a limited number of carries has caused Dayne's lack of production or it's the other way around, but the Giants are still maintaining publicly that the 1999 Heisman Trophy winner can become the kind of back they hoped they were getting with the 11th pick of the 2000 draft.
