PRINCETON, N.J. -- Derma Sciences Inc (BULLETIN BOARD: DSCI) announced today that it made initial shipments of its newly licensed SoftWash(R) patient care products during December 2001, and that the number of hospital and nursing-home trials of this product line has been increasing faster than anticipated. SoftWash is a dehydrated sponge that is impregnated with Lathanol Lal (a hypoallergenic sodium laurel sulfate derivative) and moisturizers that is used for "no-rinse" bedside bathing of patients in acute care, long-term care and home health settings.
