The head of Cox Communications' cable system in New Orleans is running for mayor of the Big Easy.
Ray Nagin, VP/GM of Cox Cable New Orleans-which serves 270,000 customers--is officially on a leave of absence from the company as of this week. Nagin will be campaigning full-time until the primary election on Feb. 2. If elected, he says he "would have to step down--being mayor is a full-time job."
A spokeswoman for Cox Communications commented: "Ray has had many years of outstanding service with Cox, and of course we absolutely wish him the best." No successor has been named to run the Cox New Orleans system, although Nagin expects an announcement will be ...
