When Dow Howell Gilmore Associates Inc. was called in by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan to begin work on a hotel and conference center in Mt. Pleasant, MI, the construction of the resort's casino had already been completed. The second phase of the project, the exterior shell of the hotel, was almost finished as well. As a result, the design team was presented with the task of creating a concept for the interior space, lighting, way finding and landscape design without any previously approved plans.
