Jorndt will succeed Canning
DEERFIELD, Ill.--L. Daniel Jorndt will succeed Walgreens president and chief operating officer Fred Canning when he retires February 1. Jorndt, 48, who has been at the chain since 1963, is a pharmacist, and has held various positions from store manager to regional vice president. He was promoted to his current positions as senior vice president and treasurer in 1982 and 1985, respectively. The move, announced by chain chairman Charles R. (Cork) Walgreen III on October 11, was not totally unexpected and has drawn praise good job, I'm sure.
