Jan. 10--The U.S. Supreme Court has turned down requests to review the Medicare fraud convictions of the former head of Baptist Medical Center and two physicians, exhausting their avenues of appeal.
The high court this week denied the petitions of Dan Anderson, one-time chief executive of Baptist Medical Center, and brothers Robert and Ronald LaHue, who ran the now-defunct Blue Valley Medical Group.
In April 1999, a federal jury found the three guilty of violating the Medicare Antikickback Act by participating in a pay-for-patients referral scheme.
