NEW YORK _ Should guests be urged to help with the cleanup once a party's over?
A resounding "yes" was the answer from noted industrial designer Russel Wright and his wife, Mary, in "Guide to Easier Living'' _ the 1950 best-seller that helped rewrite the rules of entertaining in the brave, new informal world of postwar suburbia.
Who better to dish out advice, after all, than Russel Wright, a trusted name on the home front since the mid-1930s? Folks didn't just own a set of his curvaceous American Modern dishes (now enjoying a second life on eBay), but possibly his furniture, textiles, and a whole lot more.
