Nigeria Seeks Private Refineries
In its most far-reaching step towards liberalizing its downstream oil industry, Nigeria Thursday called for international bids for the setting up of private oil refineries.
Presidential Adviser Rilwanu Lukman said the move followed Nigeria's deregulation of fuel marketing from Jan. 1. He said the move had removed a major obstacle to investing in the sector -- non-recovery of costs.
