USED-CAR DEALER LEASED "CLOCKED" VEHICLE TO POLICE, CHARGES ALLEGE

HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Charges were filed today against a Schuylkill County used-car dealer who authorities say was a "major player" in an extensive odometer-rollback scheme involving hundreds of vehicles -- including one the suspect allegedly leased to the Pottsville Police Department.

Attorney General Ernie Preate Jr. and U.S. Attorney James J. West of the Middle District of Pennsylvania jointly announced the charges and said two of the dealer's former employees also were charged.
