Thomson Corp. has announced the purchase of Sintese, one of Brazil's leading legal publishers. Sintese has been aligned with Thomson Legal & Regulatory, a major market group of Thomson Corp. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Founded in 1972, Sintese publishes summaries and full-text cases, legislation pieces, and doctrines for the Brazilian legal market. According to the announcement, it's the largest electronic legal publisher in Brazil and publishes more than 200 books, including 10 bestsellers.
