Reliable moves ahead with plans

INDIANAPOLIS - Paying a reasonable price for Peoples Drug Stores' former Midwest division has allowed Reliable Drug Stores to start off on the right track, president and chief executive officer Roger Grass told some 230 vendors at a meeting here recently.

The vendors were present to hear about Reliable's merchandising, advertising and retailing programs, as the newly formed chain moves ahead with plans to remerchandise its 115 stores.

Reliable, which was secured for some $60 million, is in the process of selling off its inventory, valued at $58 million, said Grass, and will replanogram its stores through 1990.
