THE TIME HAS COME to turn the page on what has been, shall I say, a less-than-stellar year for the hotel industry. Because of my keen desire only to look ahead with a positive outlook, on behalf of everyone at HOTELS magazine, I wish you nothing but the best for the New Year. Considering the current operating environment, if I were a hotelier making traditional resolutions for 2002, I would consider the following:
I resolve to pay more attention to hotel services and less time on the next possible merger or acquisition. Sellers are holding tight right now, hoping for hotel values to rebound in 2002, and lenders are searching for a measure of confidence before ...
