Lewis' slim but thoughtful Dante has advanced his study of Dante and Cavalcanti's influence upon the Moderns, begun with a National Endowment to the Humanities grant in 1994 at the Ezra Pound archives in Castle Brunnenberg, Dorf Tirol, Italy.
