The Department of Health & Human Services is launching a program to collect information on the quality and performance of nursing homes and post it on the Internet. The initiative is intended to help consumers select long-term care facilities. This month, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service (CMS) will begin collecting data from nursing homes in Colorado, Maryland, Ohio, Rhode Island and Washington.
