SURREY -- Gemco Construction Ltd. of Langley and Coastland Engineering and Surveying Ltd. of Surrey have each been fined $10,000 for failing to report a sewage spill the Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection announced today.
The spill occurred on Oct. 18, 2000, when a sewer main broke near Crescent Road and 35A Avenue in Surrey, where the companies were working under contract to the city. Between 24,000 and 26,000 litres of sewage is estimated to have flowed ...
