ST. LOUIS -- With a four-year goal of raising $40 million nationally for Special Olympics by 2003, Cingular announced it has successfully reached the halfway point by raising more than $20.4 million in two years. Funds raised in Missouri this year totaled $242,000.

The nationwide effort spearheaded by Cingular is one of the country's most significant corporate philanthropic initiatives seen to date, and is the largest sponsorship in Special Olympics USA's history.
