In the latest attempt to win support for its war on terrorism, China released a report Monday claiming a link between suspected terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden and Islamic separatists fighting for autonomy in the far western region of Xinjiang.
The lengthy report entitled "East Turkestan: Terrorist Forces Cannot Get Away with Impunity," released by China's State Council, claims bin Laden had coordinated the activities of Xinjiang separatists with the former Taliban rulers of Afghanistan and Islamic extremists in Uzbekistan.
