ST. LOUIS -- LaBarge, Inc. announced today that it has begun production of electronic equipment for an airport checked-baggage inspection system. PerkinElmer Detection Systems, Woburn, Mass., awarded the Company contracts valued at $3.5 million to produce electronic and box-level assemblies for the Vivid VIS108, an inspection system that uses X-rays to detect the presence of explosive materials, weapons or other contraband. The Company indicated additional work is expected.
